The Older People’s Project aims to support Older People to live safely and independently in their own home, by providing Assistive Technology (Telecare) and a range of social supports in the local community.
Assistive Technology – a term used to describe a range of equipment, which can help keep people safer by reducing the risk of falls, accidents and hospital admissions. It also provides peace of mind for families and carers. Examples include: fall detectors, bed/chair sensors, bogus caller alarms, heat sensors and door exit sensors.
Social support initiatives which have been funded through the Older People’s Project include – Good Morning Services, Befriending Services, Luncheon Clubs, I.T Training and Respite Services.
