The project focuses on two areas of diabetes care:
1) Pre-pregnancy care for women with diabetes
2) Diabetes education for children and young people
The project covers a large geographical area, including all of Northern Ireland and the border counties of the Republic of Ireland.
Via the project, pre-pregnancy care clinics will be established across the project region and structured patient education programmes will be designed and delivered to children and adolescents with diabetes and their parents and carers.
